During Bianca Kennedy's film research on bathtub scenes (e.g., for Portraits of Taking a Bath), she repeatedly came across the movie El Ojo del Huracán. The film is full of contradictions—nothing seems to fit. And then there’s this iconic still: a swan in the bathtub, a scene that doesn’t appear in the movie at all.
 
This phantom image stayed with Kennedy. If it couldn’t find its place in her video work, she wanted to capture it on stone—as a conclusion to her bathtub research. A tribute to the bathtub that "got away."

Während Bianca Kennedys Filmrecherche zu Badewannenszenen (z. B. für Portraits of Taking a Bath) stieß sie immer wieder auf den Film El Ojo del Huracán. Der Film ist voller Widersprüche – nichts scheint zusammenzupassen. Und dann gibt es dieses ikonische Still: ein Schwan in der Badewanne, eine Szene, die im Film selbst gar nicht vorkommt.
 
Dieses Phantom ließ Kennedy nicht los. Wenn es keinen Platz in ihrer Videoarbeit finden konnte, wollte sie es auf Stein festhalten – als Abschluss ihrer Badewannen-Recherche. Eine Hommage an die „entglittene“ Wanne.
